Get Your Hands on NUSofting’s Glitch Pad Synth for Free During Limited Beta Period

  • by

You can currently purchase Future Audio Workshop's SubLab for only $10, but this offer is only available for a limited time. NUSofting has recently launched a free beta version of their Glitch Pad Synth for Windows. This experimental synthesizer plugin will be available for free public use until the end of March.

The public beta version of Glitch Pad is currently accessible in VST2 and VST3 formats specifically designed for 64-bit Windows operating systems.

NUSofting usually launches plugins that are compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Therefore, Mac users will likely have the opportunity to experience the software when it is officially released at version 1.0.

The roots of the plugin can be traced back many years to when the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch was first introduced in 2002.

Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently reworked the initial algorithm and developed an enhanced oscillator, leading to the creation of a brand new VST synthesizer.

The latest edition of the software is built using C++ and can be accessed in its early beta stage through the developer's website, which is provided in the link below.

The beta version is completely operational and consists of 23 pre-configured settings.

Luigi has simplified the process of downloading the plugin by making it a simple one-click process. Users do not need to login or provide any personal information to obtain the Zip file.

A demo of the Glitch Pad can be found on YouTube, although it is not an official release. This demo presents a unique sound that incorporates elements of retro style.

The synthesizer is well-suited for genres like ambient music, experimental soundtracks, and video game compositions.

The preset names suggest different styles, such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir.

At first glance, the interface for Glitch Pad is quite overwhelming with a lot of elements to process.

In terms of appearance and organization, there are areas that could be improved, but considering it is a free beta version, it is understandable to have certain limitations.

Towards the lower part of the interface, you will find a keyboard and a preset selector. Just above that, there is a graphical depiction of the waveform.

According to the interface of the plugin, users will be able to take part in the beta for a period of two months until the expiration date at the end of March 2024.

It is uncertain if the Glitch Pad will be offered as a paid product or released for free after the beta testing phase, as NUSofting has previously released both paid and free software.

NUSofting is currently offering discounts on some of their synthesizers. If you enjoy the sound of their products, it would be worth exploring their other releases.

It is unclear if the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period is over.

The suggestion to include a disclaimer in the title stating that this plugin is only compatible with Windows has already been implemented. However, it was done so belatedly, and now there is an ongoing joke among the community, with Apple users expressing their dissatisfaction in the comment section, which has become a recurring theme for BPB (presumably a website or platform).

Similar to the attitude of superiority displayed by some Windows users, there is a tendency for individuals who claim to be uninterested in the topic of operating systems to actually be Windows users themselves. This attitude is also evident in the comments section.

This is a small and amusing device. It has some good features, such as the functioning of the pitch envelope. It would greatly improve if there was a Low-Frequency Oscillator (LFO) for each destination and more diverse shapes, including some unconventional ones, for better randomization. It is possible that these improvements are already being made since it is still in the beta phase, but just in case they are not, it would be great to see them added.

I am sorry, but there

The Glitch Pad has the ability to produce impressive sounds! Luigi, the developer from Nusofting, has not received the recognition he deserves. His work is truly remarkable!

That's great! However, I have a rant to share. I really miss the functionality of Rewire. I believe that if Rewire was still available, it would greatly enhance the usefulness of these "intro DAWs" by easily complementing the tools we already use. It's frustrating to see that as technology advances, a tool as valuable as Rewire is no longer available and has not been adequately replaced yet. While there are options like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, Rewire allowed for seamless transmission and reception of MIDI and audio directly from the DAW, without any issues or latency, while keeping everything in sync.
