Get Future Audio Workshop’s SubLab for $10 and NUSofting Releases Free Glitch Pad Synth Beta: Limited Time Offers!

  • by

For a limited period, you can purchase SubLab by Future Audio Workshop for only $10. NUSofting has recently launched a beta version of their Glitch Pad Synth plugin for Windows, which is available for free until the end of March.

The Glitch Pad public beta is currently accessible for 64-bit Windows in both VST2 and VST3 formats.

Most of NUSofting's plugins are usually available for both Windows and Mac users, so when the 1.0 release comes out, Mac users will likely be able to use them as well.

The origins of the plugin can be traced back several decades to the year 2002 when the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch was released.

Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently revamped the initial algorithm and created an enhanced oscillator, leading to the development of a new VST synthesizer.

The latest edition of the software is developed using C++ programming language and can be accessed in its early beta version through the developer's website, provided in the link below.

The beta version is completely operational and comes with 23 pre-set options.

Luigi has simplified the process of downloading the plugin by making it a one-click action. Users do not need to login or provide any personal information to obtain the Zip file.

On YouTube, there is already a demo of the Glitch Pad that is not officially released. This demo displays a unique sound that has a retro influence.

The synthesizer would fit perfectly for genres like ambient music, unconventional soundtracks, and video game scores.

The preset names, such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir, hint at the different styles that can be achieved with these presets.

When you first look at the interface for Glitch Pad, there is a significant amount of information to absorb.

In terms of appearance and organization, there is definitely some potential for enhancement. However, it's important to keep in mind that since it is a free beta version, one can only have certain expectations.

Located at the lower part of the user interface is a keyboard and a pre-set selector. Positioned above those elements is a visual depiction of the waveform.

According to the plugin's interface, users will have a two-month window to take part in the beta testing. The beta version will expire by the end of March 2024.

It is uncertain whether the Glitch Pad will be offered as a paid product or be available for free after the beta testing phase, as NUSofting has previously released products that were both paid and free.

There are currently discounted prices on some of NUSofting's synthesizers. If you enjoy the sound of these, it would be worth exploring their other available options.

It is unclear whether the synth will continue to be offered for free once the beta period is over.

"You should include in the title that this plugin is specifically designed for Windows"… oh, you've already done that. I appreciate it, but it's too late now. The complaints from Apple users in the comment section have become a recurring joke on BPB.

There is a similar level of snobbery among Windows users. Even though I am not a Mac user myself, it is clear that the majority of people who proclaim to not care about the operating system debate are actually Windows users. This can be seen from their presence in the comments section.

It's an amusing little thing. There are some good concepts, such as the pitch envelope function. It would be even better if there was a low-frequency oscillator (LFO) for each destination and more diverse shapes, including some unusual ones, to enhance the randomization. It's possible that these improvements are already being developed since it's in the beta stage, but just in case they're not, it would be great to see them implemented.

The Glitch Pad has the ability to produce impressive sounds! Luigi, the developer from Nusofting, has not received enough recognition for his outstanding work. It's really impressive!

That's great! But I have a complaint. I really miss the feature called "rewire". I think if it still existed, all these beginner-friendly digital audio workstations (DAWs) would be much more valuable because they could easily work alongside the DAWs we already use. It's unbelievable that as technology advances, such a useful feature has been discontinued and not properly replaced yet. Sure, there are alternatives like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, but rewire allowed for seamless transfer of MIDI and audio directly from the DAW without any issues or delays, while keeping everything in sync.
