You can save 95% on Universal Audio's Electronic Music Bundle. The Crow Hill Company has recently launched Shimmer Guitar, which is a guitar sample library that is available for free. This is the fourth instrument to be released as part of The Crow Hill Company's FREE Vaults series.

Christian Henson is the creator of The Crow Hill Company. If you are familiar with Christian's previous work at Spitfire Audio, you will find the free Vaults series to be similar in style. Recently, the company has introduced Shimmer Guitar, which is the latest addition to the FREE Vaults series.

Currently, the Vault offers a selection of four instruments that can be accessed for free: Attic Grand, R+D Strings, Celestatone, and Shimmer Guitar.

All of these instruments, including previous releases from Spitfire Audio, share a common feature which is their unique personality or character.

The uniqueness of the character in the instrument usually stems from it being a distinct model, having a specific age, being recorded in a particular location, or a combination of these factors.

The shimmer guitar is created by using an older, well-preserved musical instrument, a classic amplifier, and a renowned studio known for recording orchestral music.

Originally, the intention was to buy an old vintage guitar for the recording session. However, things didn't go as planned and instead a Kay semi-hollow-body electric guitar was purchased. Eventually, a hollow-body Gibson Les Paul guitar was used for the recording.

Although the Kay initially seemed promising, certain technical difficulties arose, necessitating its replacement with the Les Paul, which was considered a suitable and satisfactory alternative.

The sound recording was done at Lyndhurst Hall in AIR Studios located in London. In order to capture the true essence of the sound, a vintage Supro tube amp was used alongside the Les Paul.

The Supro amplifier did not have any built-in effects, however, there were three Marshall stacks placed on the upper level of the hall that included delay effects to create the desired atmosphere.

Similar to the instruments found in other Vaults, the Shimmer Guitar is equipped with six macros. These macros include two prominent central controls, as well as four smaller ones positioned below them

There are two main controls called Filter (low-pass) and Shimmer. Additionally, there are other controls such as Drive (British-style dirt), Mod (flange), Echo, and Splosh. By adjusting the settings, you can choose to have reverb before or after the delay effect.

Shimmer is the enchanting element that connects all things, and when you have the perfect combination of earthiness, spaciousness, atmosphere, and purity, it creates an incredibly captivating sound.

I am enjoying the musical instruments available in the Vault at the moment, and I anticipate the inclusion of more unique and delightful additions, similar to the LABS collection by Spitfire Audio.

If you haven't explored any content from Vaults yet, I recommend starting with Attic Piano and then progressing to Shimmer Guitar. These are delightful free offerings that you shouldn't miss out on!

Take a look at this offer: The Shimmer Guitar is available for free for all members of the Crow Hill Company as part of the Vaults plugins.

Has LABS ceased to exist?

In response to the real question, it appears that the subject in question is no longer alive.

The most recent release of LABS occurred 7 months ago, whereas it used to be a regular monthly occurrence. LABS was primarily associated with Christian, and since he is no longer involved, it seems to have lost momentum and stopped.

I don't believe there will be any new LABS releases, unless Henson decides to come back to Spitfire Audio. However, I'm glad that he is carrying on the tradition of LABS with Vaults. It has a similar appearance and functionality to LABS, and it seems like there will be many new sound patches available for it.

Oh no! My devious scheme to incite a uprising by manipulating the comments on a website has been foiled once again. You have outsmarted me, sir. Bravo. *sound of thunder in the distance*

I'm wondering why my comment about Christian being a transphobe was removed. I didn't say anything disrespectful; I simply wanted to raise awareness about the person others choose to support.

I'm sorry

Musicians who are dedicated to their craft prioritize the quality of their plugins and instruments over their origin. They understand the importance of their jobs and paying bills, leaving them with limited time to concern themselves with the opinions and personal lives of others.

Hello Łukasz, the article is about a virtual instrument that is available for free. Please refrain from making any comments about politics or other non-music production topics, as these discussions tend to become heated and will not be permitted on BPB. There are plenty of other platforms where these topics can be discussed. My goal for BPB is to create a space where people, including myself, can learn about music, engage in enjoyable music-related discussions with fellow music enthusiasts, and find a sense of peace away from the negativity that is prevalent on the internet. Thank you.
