Modular synthesis offers a remarkable level of freedom and adaptability. Software platforms such as VCV Rack 2, Reaktor, and Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular have the capability to replicate the signal flow of a Eurorack setup.
When it comes to Reaktor, you have the option to directly engage in visually programming DSP. Conversely, KarmaFX's Synth Modular 2 also adopts a similar approach but possesses its own unique design philosophy.
If you're looking to enhance your collection of virtual modular synths, you can get the KarmaFX Synth Modular 2 at a discounted price of 80% off until February 5th, courtesy of Audio Plugin Deals.
I have a great appreciation for the way VCV Rack functions and I often use it on both Mac and Windows. However, I find KarmaFX's approach to modular synthesis to be quite fascinating.
The pre-set sounds are impressive, although they are mostly focused on trance music and its related subgenres.
If you're in search of deep and powerful bass notes, intense and sharp lead sounds, and rich and atmospheric pads, it is able to produce them with ease.
The learning process of understanding the signal flow in Synth Modular 2 can be a bit challenging. However, once you have mastered the skill of programming a sound from start to finish using its modular components, the possibilities become endless.
I have a special appreciation for the possibilities that the sequencer modules offer. Unlike the limitations of using analog modeled knobs found in a Serge or a typical sequencer, these modules provide a more visually immersive experience.
The user interface is straightforward and easily understandable. It adapts well to different screen sizes, making it advantageous for users with higher resolutions. I personally tried using Synth Modular 2 on a 4K monitor and was satisfied with its smooth performance.
It would be great if the window could be resized without any restrictions, but that complaint can be discussed later. However, considering the price of $39.99, I believe it is a worthwhile investment.
Synth Modular 2 operates smoothly on computers that run on the Windows operating system. Nevertheless, while experimenting with the trial version on my M1 Mac, I experienced difficulties as it defaulted to using Rosetta.
However, there is a lot of content available to discover in this offer. With access to a synthesizer and sound effects plugin, there are endless possibilities for creating unique and mind-blowing combinations, although it may require some dedication. It is advisable to take advantage of this opportunity soon, as the sale will not be available for much longer.
Take a look at this great offer: Synth Modular 2 is currently discounted by 80% until February 5th, now priced at $39.99.

An incredibly captivating plugin.
However, the identical offer was available on Pluginomat in the previous month.
I am curious if Karma FX has set the price too high considering their numerous sales.

I share the same opinion as Humanoid. In my view, the price of the product is too expensive considering the fact that it is frequently available for sale at $
I would like to advise anyone planning to purchase this product that it only includes either a MacOS or a Windows version. You cannot have both operating systems with one purchase. If you initially buy it for Mac but later decide to deactivate it and use it on Windows, you will not be able to do so. This software only allows for usage on a single operating system. In my opinion, this limitation is quite impractical, especially for individuals like me who work with multiple platforms.
I made the purchase two years ago. The sound quality and versatility are satisfactory, but it didn't impress me greatly. The CPU usage is moderate, which is expected for modular synths. It would be great to have some different designs for it. The user interface is a bit cumbersome. I would consider it to be decent for a modular synth, but overall it is rather average in my perspective.
