Modular synthesis offers a sense of liberation and adaptability. Programs such as VCV Rack 2, Reaktor, and Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular have the ability to replicate the signal flow found in a Eurorack setup.
For Reaktor, you have the option to directly engage in visually programming DSP. On the other hand, KarmaFX's Synth Modular 2 follows a similar approach but has its own unique design philosophy.
If you're looking to enhance your virtual modular synth collection, you can get the KarmaFX Synth Modular 2 at a discounted price of 80% off until February 5th from Audio Plugin Deals.
I really love the way VCV Rack works and I often use it on both Mac and Windows. However, I find KarmaFX's approach to modular synthesis quite fascinating.
The pre-programmed settings have a fantastic sound, although they are primarily designed for trance music and its related subgenres.
If you are searching for precise and intense low-frequency plucks, harsh and controlled leads, and deep and resonant cinematic pads, it can easily handle those sounds for you.
The learning curve of understanding the signal flow in Synth Modular 2 can be a bit challenging. However, once you have mastered programming a sound from scratch using its modular components, there are endless possibilities and no limits to what you can achieve.
I find the sequencer modules' potential particularly appealing. Instead of being limited to the analog modeled knobs found on a Serge or typical sequencer, they offer a more visually immersive experience.
The user interface of Synth Modular 2 is easily understandable and visually appealing. It adjusts smoothly to fit different screen sizes, which is advantageous for users with higher resolution screens. I personally tried using Synth Modular 2 on a 4K monitor and was impressed by its excellent performance and adaptability.
I hope that the ability to resize the window was more flexible, but that's a complaint that can be discussed later. However, considering the price of $39.99, I believe it is a worthwhile purchase.
The Synth Modular 2 software works smoothly on Windows computers. However, when I tried using the trial version on my M1 Mac, I faced some problems as it automatically switched to Rosetta.
However, there is a lot to discover in this software. It offers both a synthesizer and an effects plugin, which means you have the opportunity to create unique and mind-bending combinations if you're willing to invest the necessary time. Don't miss out on this opportunity; the sale won't be available for long.
Take a look at this amazing offer: Synth Modular 2 is currently discounted by 80% until February 5th, with a price of only $39.99.

However, the identical offer was available on Pluginomat during the previous month.
I am curious if Karma FX has set the price too high because they are constantly having sales.

I share the same opinion as Humanoid. In my view, the price set for it is too high, especially considering the fact that it is often available for purchase
I want to give a heads up to anyone who plans on buying this product. It's important to note that when you make the purchase, you will only receive either the MacOS version or the Windows version. You won't get both. So, if you initially buy it for Mac and later decide to switch to Windows, unfortunately, you won't be able to deactivate it and use it on the new operating system. This is quite disappointing, especially for someone like me who works with different platforms.
I made the purchase two years ago. The sound quality and versatility are satisfactory, but it didn't impress me greatly. The CPU usage is moderate (modular synthesizers tend to have high CPU usage in general), so it's not too bad. It would be great if there were different skins available as alternatives. The user-friendliness is a bit awkward. I would describe it as decent for a modular synth, but overall it's quite average in my personal opinion.
