Autobeat is a drum sequencer plugin powered by AI and it is available for free.
Axart Software has recently launched AutoBeat, a drum sequencer plugin that can be used on both Windows and macOS. While a free version is available, there is also a paid version.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently receiving a lot of attention. In our previous discussions, we highlighted the presence of AI music generators that are available for free. However, this technology is now being utilized for additional purposes, such as creating MIDI files, editing audio, and
I have previously come across Axart Software and their impressive mKer sequencer suite for the iPad, so I was taken aback when I discovered that they also had an AI-powered drum sequencer for both Windows and Mac operating systems.
Although AutoBeat offers a paid version, there is still a lot to discover with the free version. Therefore, let's further explore and examine its features.
The central aspect of Autobeat is the availability of various genres that can be used to create drum beats. There are eight genres to choose from, including electronic styles such as house, techno, and DnB.
Additionally, there are a total of 12 tracks available for use, which should be sufficient for the majority of MIDI-based drum machines compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Personally, I found it beneficial to utilize Autobeat in conjunction with Algonaut's Atlas.
Since I realized that I was already using AI, I decided to fully embrace it and aim for great success.
You have the option to choose the thickness, size, and strength of each design. The randomization dial also adds a touch of controlled disorder to the combination.
In my experience, I discovered that setting it to approximately 25% yielded the best results. I observed that without this adjustment, things tended to become abstract rather rapidly.
With Autobeat's paid version, you have the option to export MIDI to any drum machine plugin that you prefer. If the process of routing MIDI doesn't bother you, then you're in for a pleasant surprise.
I appreciate the flexibility of being able to customize the mapping of things according to my own workflow. The interface is user-friendly and easy to understand, and there are separate mute and solo options for each of the 12 tracks. Furthermore, it is possible to save multiple patterns, with a total of 128 patterns being stored across 8 prompts.
If you're feeling a bit stuck and lacking creativity when it comes to adding percussion to your music, Autobeat is definitely worth trying out. However, I did have to make some adjustments to specifically focus on the elements of my Atlas kits that I wanted to improve.
However, once I had perfected it, I was able to start quickly and efficiently.
Autobeat can be used on both Windows and Mac computers. It is specifically designed for Apple Silicon, which is a great feature to have.
Get AutoBeat for free or choose to purchase the paid version.

This program is not functioning properly and it causes my digital audio workstation (Samplitude) to freeze. It is a negative experience and I have decided to uninstall it once again.
I'm sorry, but "
When using it in Ableton, the tool creates MIDI data, but it does not produce any sound. Therefore, you must run it in a channel and then route the MIDI into a separate channel that contains a drum kit or virtual instrument.
I'm sorry, but the
Hmm, now it has completely ceased to function.
I'm sorry
Each time I attempt to click on a button in FL Studio, the program crashes.

This is not artificial intelligence in any way. It is simply a collection of patterns.

I tested it on a Dell G5s Ryzen 17 with 16GB of RAM running Windows 10 and Ableton Live 11. I installed and loaded a VST in a MIDI channel and also loaded the Live Impulse drum app. I followed a video tutorial and discovered that I needed to route the MIDI channel to the drum VST in order to hear any sound. However, when I linked and pressed play, there was no sound. I tried again with a different app to assign the MIDI notes to the loaded samples, but still no sound. I decided to uninstall it. Instead, I found it quicker to manually load the VST3 and DLL Speedrum Lite, load it into Live, and create my own drum notes for a "random" pattern.

The Axart website is not accessible anymore, which raises suspicions.
