Save 95% on the Electronic Music Bundle by Universal Audio. Autobeat, an AI drum sequencer plugin, is now available for free. Axart Software has released AutoBeat, a drum sequencer plugin that can be used on both Windows and macOS. There is also a paid version of the plugin available.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently receiving a lot of attention. In addition to the previously mentioned free AI music generators, this technology is now being utilized for MIDI generation, audio editing, and various other purposes.
I have prior knowledge about the team at Axart Software because of their impressive mKer sequencer suite for the iPad. However, it came as a surprise to me that they also offer an AI-powered drum sequencer for both Windows and Mac operating systems.
Although AutoBeat does offer a paid version, there is still ample content available to explore in the free version. Therefore, let's delve further and examine its features.
Autobeat offers a variety of genres that can be used to create drum beats. There are a total of 8 genres to choose from, including electronic styles like house, techno, and DnB.
In addition, there are a total of 12 tracks available for use, which is sufficient for the majority of MIDI-based drum machines compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Personally, I utilized Autobeat in conjunction with Algonaut's Atlas software.
Since I was already using AI, I thought it would be best to fully commit and aim for the highest level of success.
You have the option to choose the thickness, size, and strength of each design. The randomization dial also adds a touch of organized disorder to the combination.
In my experience, I discovered that setting it to approximately 25% yielded the most favorable results. I observed that things tended to become abstract rather rapidly if set higher.
With Autobeat's paid version, you have the ability to transfer MIDI files to your preferred drum machine plugin. If you are comfortable with the process of routing MIDI, you will definitely enjoy this feature.
I appreciate the flexibility of being able to customize the mapping of things according to my workflow. The interface is user-friendly and easy to understand, and it offers separate mute and solo options for each of the 12 tracks. Furthermore, you can save multiple patterns, with a total of 128 patterns that can be stored using 8 different prompts.
If you're feeling stuck and lacking creativity in terms of percussive elements, Autobeat is a great option. However, I had to make some adjustments to specifically focus on the Atlas kits that I wanted to improve.
After I had figured it out and got it set up correctly, I started doing things quickly and efficiently.
Autobeat can be used on both Windows and Mac computers. It is specifically designed to be compatible with Apple Silicon, which is a great feature.
Get AutoBeat today by downloading it for free or opting for the paid version.

This software is not functioning properly and is causing my digital audio workstation (Samplitude) to freeze. I have uninstalled it as it was causing issues.
I'm sorry, but it
When operating it in Ableton, the software creates MIDI data but does not produce any audible sound. To hear the generated MIDI, you must connect it to a specific channel and route the MIDI into a separate channel that contains a drum kit or virtual instrument.

Hmm, now it has completely ceased to function…

This is not artificial intelligence at all. It is simply a collection of patterns.

I experimented with Ableton Live 11 on a Dell G5s Ryzen 17 running Windows 10, equipped with 16GB of RAM. After installing and loading a VST in a MIDI channel, I also loaded a Live Impulse drum application. I followed a video tutorial and discovered that I needed to route the MIDI channel to send signals to the drum VST. However, when I linked everything and pressed play, there was no sound. I tried again with a different application, hoping to assign MIDI notes to the loaded samples, but still encountered the same issue. Eventually, I uninstalled the software. Instead, I found that it was quicker to manually load the VST3 and DLL Speedrum Lite, load it into Live, and create my own drum notes for a randomized pattern.
