Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently experiencing a surge in popularity. In addition to our previous discussion on free AI music generators, this technology is now being utilized for MIDI generation, audio editing, and various other applications.
I have previous knowledge about Axart Software, as I have used their outstanding mKer sequencer suite for the iPad. However, it came as a surprise to me that they also offer an AI-powered drum sequencer for both Windows and Mac operating systems.
Although AutoBeat does offer a paid version, there are still numerous features and options available to explore with the free version. Therefore, let's delve deeper into its capabilities and examine what it has to offer.
Autobeat's central feature is a variety of music genres that can be used to create drum beats. There are 8 genres available to choose from, including electronic styles such as house, techno, and DnB.
Additionally, there are 12 available tracks to use, which should be sufficient for the majority of MIDI-based drum machines compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Personally, I found it beneficial to utilize Autobeat in conjunction with Algonaut's Atlas.
Since I realized that I was already using AI, I decided to fully embrace it and aim for the highest level of success.
You have the option to choose the thickness, size, and strength of each design. The randomization dial also adds a touch of organized disorder to the combination.
In my experience, I discovered that setting it to approximately 25% yielded the most effective results. Otherwise, things tended to become abstract rapidly.
Autobeat's premium version enables users to export MIDI to their preferred drum machine plugin. If you are comfortable with routing MIDI, you will be pleasantly surprised.
I appreciate the fact that you have the ability to customize things according to your own workflow. The interface is easy to understand and learn, and there are separate mute and solo options for each of the 12 tracks. Furthermore, you can save multiple patterns, with a total of 128 patterns being stored across 8 prompts.
If you're experiencing a lack of creativity when it comes to percussive elements, Autobeat is a great option to consider. However, I did have to make some adjustments to specifically focus on the elements of my Atlas kits that I wanted to improve.
Once I had figured it out, I quickly got started and made good progress.
Autobeat can be used on both Windows and Mac computers. It has been specifically designed for Apple Silicon, which is a great feature to have.
You can download AutoBeat for free or purchase the paid version.

The software is not functioning properly for me and causes my digital audio workstation (Samplitude) to freeze. It is unfortunate, so I have decided to uninstall it once again.

When using it in Ableton, the software generates MIDI data but does not produce any sound. To hear the sound, you will need to use a channel and route the MIDI data into a separate channel that has a drum kit or virtual instrument (VST) loaded onto it.
I'm sorry, but "
Hmm, now it has completely ceased to function.
I'm sorry
Whenever I try to click on any button in FL Studio, the software crashes immediately.

This is rubbish. It doesn't contain any form of artificial intelligence, only a collection of patterns.

I tested it using Ableton Live 11 on a Win10 Dell G5s Ryzen 17 with 16GB of RAM. I installed and loaded a VST in a MIDI channel and also loaded a Live Impulse drum application. I followed a video tutorial and learned that I needed to route the MIDI channel to connect with the drum VST. I linked everything and pressed play, but there was no sound. I tried again with a different application in order to assign the MIDI notes to the loaded samples, but still no sound. I decided to uninstall it. It was quicker to manually load the VST3 and DLL for Speedrum Lite, load it into Live, and create my own drum notes for a "random" pattern.

The Axart website is not accessible anymore. This seems a bit questionable…
