Autobeat is a drum sequencer plugin powered by artificial intelligence, and it is available for free. Axart Software recently launched AutoBeat, which can be used as a plugin on both Windows and macOS platforms. While the free version is
Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently very popular. We have already discussed the existence of AI music generators that are available for free, but now AI is also being utilized for generating MIDI files, editing audio, and various other purposes.
I have previous knowledge of the talented individuals at Axart Software because of their impressive mKer sequencer suite designed for the iPad. However, I was taken aback to discover that they also offer an AI-powered drum sequencer for both Windows and Mac operating systems.
AutoBeat does offer a paid option, but there is a lot of content to discover with the free version. Therefore, let's delve into it further and examine what it has to offer.
Autobeat consists of a variety of music genres that can be used to create drum beats. There are a total of 8 genres to choose from, including electronic styles such as house, techno, and DnB.
Additionally, there are a total of 12 tracks available for use, which is sufficient for the majority of MIDI-based drum machines compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Personally, I utilized Autobeat in conjunction with Algonaut's Atlas.
Since I realized that I was already using AI, I decided to fully embrace it and strive for the best possible outcome.
You have the ability to choose the thickness, size, and strength of every design. The randomization dial also adds a touch of organized disorder to the combination.
In my experience, I discovered that setting it to approximately 25% yielded the most effective results. If I didn't do so, things tended to move towards abstraction much
With Autobeat's paid version, you have the option to export MIDI to any drum machine plugin you prefer. If you are comfortable with routing MIDI, then you'll definitely enjoy this feature.
I appreciate the flexibility of being able to customize the mapping of things according to my workflow preferences. The interface is user-friendly and easy to understand, allowing for individual muting and soloing on each of the 12 tracks. Moreover, it is possible to save multiple patterns, with a total of 128 patterns being stored across 8 prompts.
If you're feeling stuck and lacking creativity when it comes to percussive elements, Autobeat is a great tool to try out. However, I had to make some adjustments to specifically focus on the elements of my Atlas kits that I wanted to improve.
However, after I had adjusted it correctly, I started working quickly and efficiently.
You can use Autobeat on both Windows and Mac computers. It is specially designed to work efficiently on Apple Silicon, which is a great feature.
Get AutoBeat now by downloading it for free or purchasing the paid version.

The program is not functioning properly on my computer and causing my digital audio workstation (Samplitude) to freeze. I had to uninstall it because it was causing issues.
Sorry, but I cannot generate
When using it in Ableton, the program generates MIDI data but does not produce any sound. To hear the generated MIDI, you need to run it in a channel and then route the MIDI to a new channel that contains a drum kit or virtual instrument (VST).
There is no meaning or definition
Hmm, now it has completely stopped functioning.
I'm sorry
Whenever I attempt to click on any button in FL Studio, the software crashes immediately.

This is rubbish. It does not possess any form of artificial intelligence; it is simply a collection of patterns.

I experimented with Ableton Live 11 on a Dell G5s Ryzen 17 running Windows 10, equipped with 16GB of RAM. I installed and activated a VST plugin on a midi channel, and also loaded a Live Impulse drum application. I followed a video tutorial and discovered that I needed to route the Midi channel to connect with the drum VST. After linking and pressing play, I realized there was no sound. I attempted the process again with a different application, hoping to assign the midi notes to the loaded samples, but still encountered no sound. Eventually, I uninstalled the application. I found it more efficient to manually load the vst3 and dll Speedrum Lite, import it into Live, and manually create my own drum notes for a "random" pattern.

It seems that the Axart website is no longer accessible, which raises some suspicions.
