Save 95% on Universal Audio's Electronic Music Bundle. Access Autobeat, a drum sequencer plugin powered by artificial intelligence, for free. Axart Software has recently launched AutoBeat, a plugin for Windows and macOS that allows users to create drum sequences. While there is a paid version, a free version is also available.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently a popular and widely-discussed topic. In addition to our previous discussion on AI music generators, this technology is now being utilized for MIDI generation, audio editing, and various other purposes.
I am already acquainted with Axart Software and their impressive mKer sequencer suite for the iPad. However, it came as a surprise to me that they also offer an AI-powered drum sequencer for both Windows and Mac operating systems.
AutoBeat does offer a paid version, but there are still many features and options to discover with the free version. Let's delve into it further and see what it has to offer.
Autobeat has a central feature that offers a variety of music genres to create drum beats. Users have the option to choose from a range of 8 genres, including popular electronic styles like house, techno, and DnB.
In addition, there are 12 tracks available for use, which should be sufficient for the majority of MIDI-driven drum machines on both Windows and Mac operating systems. Personally, I utilized Autobeat in conjunction with Algonaut's Atlas.
After considering the situation, I realized that if I was going to use AI, I should fully embrace it and aim for the highest level of success possible.
You have the option to choose how dense, long, and intense each pattern is. Additionally, the randomization dial adds a touch of organized chaos to the combination.
In my experience, I discovered that setting it at approximately 25% yielded the most optimal results. I observed that without this adjustment, things tended to veer towards abstraction
Autobeat's premium version offers the feature to export MIDI to any drum machine plugin that you prefer. If you are comfortable with the process of routing MIDI, then you will be pleasantly surprised with the benefits it offers.
I appreciate the flexibility of being able to customize the mapping of things according to my workflow. The interface is user-friendly and easy to understand, and there are separate mute and solo options for each of the 12 tracks. Moreover, it is possible to save multiple patterns, with a total of 128 patterns being stored across 8 prompts.
If you're feeling stuck and lacking creativity when it comes to creating percussion elements, giving Autobeat a try is a good idea. However, I had to make some adjustments to specifically focus on the elements of my Atlas kits that I wanted to improve upon.
Once I got it figured out, I quickly started making progress!
Autobeat can be used on both Windows and Mac computers. It is specifically designed for Apple Silicon, which is a great feature for users.
Get AutoBeat now by downloading it for free or checking out the paid versions.

The software does not function properly and causes my digital audio workstation (Samplitude) to freeze. Therefore, I have uninstalled it due to these issues.

When using it in Ableton, it creates MIDI data but does not produce any sound. Therefore, you need to route the MIDI data to a separate channel that contains a drum kit or virtual instrument in order to hear the generated sound.

Hmm, now it has ceased to function entirely…
Sorry, but
Whenever I try to click on any button in FL Studio, the software crashes abruptly.

This is rubbish. There is no artificial intelligence involved here, it is simply a collection of patterns.

I tested it on a Dell G5s Ryzen 17 with 16GB of RAM running Windows 10 and Ableton Live 11. I installed and loaded a VST plugin in a MIDI channel, as well as a Live Impulse drum application. I followed a video tutorial and discovered that I needed to route the MIDI channel to the drum VST in order to hear sound. However, when I linked everything and pressed play, there was no sound. I tried again with a different application, hoping to assign the MIDI notes to the loaded samples, but still no sound. Eventually, I uninstalled the application. It was quicker for me to manually load the VST3 and DLL Speedrum Lite, load it into Live, and create my own drum notes for a "random" pattern.

The Axart website is currently inaccessible, which raises some suspicion.
