Chris Young Clears His Name: Assault Charges Dropped and Trolls Put to Rest

  • by

Chris Young took a moment to respond to online critics, commonly referred to as "trolls," after having all charges dropped following his arrest last Monday. Young expressed his satisfaction and relief at being cleared of any wrongdoing.

Using social media, the singer shared a surveillance video and expressed a message to those who accused him of being at fault for touching a law enforcement agent.

On Friday, the Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk declared that he had completed his examination of the evidence, resulting in dropped charges. The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission had acknowledged that they had encouraged Young to keep his distance when he attempted to interfere in their license check.

The video obtained by Taste of Country depicts Young displaying minimal aggression while attempting to prevent an agent. There is uncertainty about whether he even made physical contact with the man from one perspective.

The singer of the song "Young Love & Saturday Nights" claims that he never made physical contact with anyone. He recently posted a video on TikTok where he addresses the incident publicly for the first time.

"I didn't physically make contact with the police officer," he states in response to those who are criticizing him by saying not to touch a cop.

Since all charges have been dismissed, Young is no longer legally involved in the incident. He will probably resume promoting his upcoming album titled Young Love & Saturday Night, which is scheduled to be released on March 22.
