Chris Young Clears His Name: Assault Charges Dropped and Trolls Silenced

  • by

Chris Young confidently responded to his critics after having all charges dropped in relation to his arrest last Monday.

Using social media, the singer shared a surveillance video and addressed those who accused him of being at fault for physically touching a law enforcement officer.

On Friday, the Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk declared that he had completed his examination of the evidence, leading to the dismissal of charges. The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission had previously acknowledged their actions of urging Young to "create distance" after he attempted to interfere in their license check.

A video, which was obtained by Taste of Country, depicts Young behaving calmly and non-aggressively while attempting to prevent an agent from proceeding. From one perspective, it is raised as a doubt whether he even made physical contact with the man.

The singer of the song "Young Love & Saturday Nights" claims that he did not physically make contact with anyone. He recently posted a video on his TikTok account where he addresses the incident publicly for the first time.

In response to those who criticize me for interacting with a police officer, I want to clarify that I did not physically touch him.

Since all charges have been dismissed, Young is no longer legally involved in the incident. He can now focus on promoting his upcoming album titled Young Love & Saturday Night, which is scheduled to be released on March 22.
