Chris Young responded to individuals who were criticizing him after the assault charges against him were dropped. He showed confidence and pride after being declared innocent in the incident that led to his arrest on the previous Monday.
Using social media, the singer shared a surveillance video along with a message directed towards individuals who accused him of being at fault for physically engaging with a law enforcement agent.
On Friday, the Nashville District Attorney, Glenn Funk, declared that he had completed his examination of the evidence and decided to dismiss the charges. The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission had already acknowledged that they had urged Young to step back after he attempted to interfere with their inspection of licenses.
A video, which Taste of Country has obtained, depicts Young behaving calmly and without much aggression as he attempts to prevent an agent from doing something. From one perspective, it is unclear whether he even made physical contact with the man.
The singer of the song "Young Love & Saturday Nights" claims that he never made physical contact with anyone. He recently uploaded a video on TikTok where he addresses the incident publicly for the first time.
To address those who are criticizing me and saying not to engage with a police officer, I want to clarify that I did not physically touch him.
Since all charges have been dismissed, Young is no longer facing any legal issues related to the incident. Now, he can focus on promoting his upcoming album, Young Love & Saturday Night, which is scheduled to be released on March 22.
