Chris Young Speaks Out and Clears His Name After Assault Charges Are Dropped

  • by

Chris Young confidently responded to his critics, commonly referred to as 'trolls', after having all charges dropped in relation to his arrest last Monday. Young showed his strength and resilience in the face of adversity.

Using social media, the singer shared a surveillance video along with a message to address those who accused him of wrongdoing for touching a law enforcement officer.

On Friday, the Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk declared that he had completed his examination of the evidence and decided to dismiss the charges. The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission had previously acknowledged that they had urged Young to keep his distance after he attempted to interfere in their license inspection.

A video, obtained by Taste of Country, depicts Young attempting to restrain an agent without displaying much aggression. From one angle, there is uncertainty whether Young actually made physical contact with the man.

The singer of "Young Love & Saturday Nights" claims that he never made physical contact with anyone. He recently released a video on his TikTok, where he addresses the incident for the first time.

"To address those individuals who are criticizing me by saying, 'Do not physically engage with a police officer' … I want to clarify that I did not make any physical contact with him," he states.

Since all charges against him have been dismissed, Young is no longer facing any legal consequences for the incident. As a result, he can now focus on promoting his upcoming album, titled Young Love & Saturday Night, which is scheduled to be released on March 22.
