Chris Young Clears His Name: Assault Charges Dropped and Trolls Shut Down

  • by

Chris Young confidently responded to his critics, known as 'trolls', after having all charges dropped following his arrest on Monday.

The vocalist used social media to share a surveillance video and address those who accused him of wrongdoing for touching a law enforcement officer.

On Friday, the Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk declared that he has completed his examination of the evidence and decided to dismiss the charges. This decision was made after the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission acknowledged their involvement in pressuring Young to step back when he attempted to interfere in their license check.

A video, which was obtained by Taste of Country, reveals that Young showed very little aggression or hostility while attempting to prevent an agent from proceeding. From one particular angle, there is doubt as to whether he even made physical contact with the man.

The singer of the song "Young Love & Saturday Nights" claims that he never made physical contact with anyone. Recently, he posted a video on his TikTok where he addresses the incident publicly for the first time.

"I didn't physically make contact with the police officer," he states in response to those who criticize him for suggesting otherwise.

Since all charges have been dismissed, Young is no longer facing any legal consequences for the incident. He can now focus on promoting his upcoming album, Young Love & Saturday Night, which is scheduled to be released on March 22.
