Do you recall watching Morgan Wallen's audition on 'The Voice'? Back in 2014, Wallen was an ordinary country boy with long hair, working as a landscaper. However, his life took a turn after he decided to audition for the popular show.
Wallen made his way onto the stage, donning a gray button-up shirt, a black jacket, and a black tie, which was quite a departure from his usual appearance that his fans have grown accustomed to. He opted to perform a rendition of Howie Day's song "Collide," which beautifully complemented his deep and raspy voice.
Shakira quickly rotated her chair, while the other coaches took a while before pressing their red button. Eventually, Usher pushed his button, but both Blake Shelton and Adam Levine decided not to give Wallen a chance.
Usher and Shakira were extremely impressed with the distinctiveness of his voice, affirming that there was no other voice quite like his on the show or in the music industry. Following their impassioned appeals, Wallen ultimately chose Usher to be his coach.
The singer known for his song "Everything I Love" was taken from Team Usher and moved to Team Adam to continue his journey after the second round. He managed to reach the playoffs but was eventually eliminated.
He explained to Billboard that there are certain aspects in life that we have no control over. However, he believes that striving to be the best version of oneself is within our control. He admits that during his elimination, he didn't feel satisfied with his performance and realized that he could have put in more effort. Therefore, he decided to practice harder to improve.
Jumping ahead to the present, Wallen has become a prominent figure in the country music industry. Currently, he is busy with the production of his fourth studio album and getting ready for the upcoming 2024 segment of his One Night at a Time Tour, which recommences in April.
