Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd Finalize Divorce: Inside Their Split and Future Plans

Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd's divorce has been officially approved and finalized by a judge.

Based on legal records acquired by People magazine, the two musicians from the country genre officially ended their separation in Nashville on Tuesday (Jan. 30). This occurred within a month of them coming to an agreement on how to divide their assets and handle child support at the beginning of January.

The former couple has reached an agreement regarding financial support for their child. As stated in the documents submitted recently, Morris will make monthly payments of $2,100 to Hurd, and they will share custody of their son. Additionally, they have agreed to divide their assets according to the terms of their prenuptial agreement and settlement arrangement.

Both Morris and Hurd have not shared many details about their split on social media. However, during an interview on the Howard Stern Show in late 2023, Morris mentioned that she had no intentions of entering the dating scene again at that point.

She expressed her desire for the divorce to be concluded soon as she is currently not in the right mindset to handle it. However, she mentioned that she is currently pouring her energy into writing. Songwriting has become her way of experiencing romantic connections.

In 2013, Morris and Hurd were working together as songwriters when they developed a romantic relationship. Despite becoming engaged in 2017 and getting married a year later, they continued to collaborate on music. It was quite frequent throughout the decade to see them performing together on stage, usually singing their popular duet "Chasing After You," which reached the top spot on the charts.

Both singers were signed to Sony Music Nashville in the past. However, Morris recently revealed her decision to shift away from mainstream country music and release her music under the label's New York imprint, just before filing for divorce.
