Back in 2014, Morgan Wallen was an ordinary country boy with long hair who worked as a landscaper. However, his life took a different turn after he decided to try out for The Voice.
Wallen made his way onto the stage, sporting a gray button-up shirt, a black jacket, and a black tie. This was quite a departure from his usual appearance, which his fans have become accustomed to. For his performance, he opted to sing the song "Collide" by Howie Day, which complemented his deep and rough voice exceptionally well.
Shakira quickly rotated her chair, however, it took a while for the other coaches to press their red button. Eventually, Usher pressed his button, but Blake Shelton and Adam Levine decided not to take a risk with Wallen.
Both Usher and Shakira were extremely impressed with the distinctiveness of his voice, stating that there was no other voice quite like his on the show or in mainstream radio. Once both coaches expressed their enthusiasm, Wallen ultimately chose Usher to be his coach.
The artist who sang "Everything I Love" was taken from Team Usher and joined Team Adam in the next round to continue his journey. He successfully reached the playoffs but unfortunately got eliminated.
In an interview with Billboard, he expressed that there are certain aspects of life that are beyond our control. However, he emphasized that striving to be the best version of oneself is within our power. He acknowledged that he didn't feel satisfied with his performance and believed that he could have done better. As a result, he committed to practicing harder to improve.
Looking ahead to the present, Wallen has become a prominent figure in the world of country music. He is currently busy with the production of his fourth studio album and making arrangements for the 2024 portion of his One Night at a Time Tour, which will recommence in April.
