Woman’s Heroic Effort: Clinging to Moving Car in Desperate Attempt to Save Stolen Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely held onto the hood of a moving car in order to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, an incident occurred outside of a Whole Foods store where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, who was walking her dog, and forcefully took the pet away from her.

The woman picked up Onyx, the dog, and brought him to a white car where someone else was driving.

Courageously, Zacharias was determined to stop the thieves from escaping with Onyx. Without hesitation, she leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted his experience by stating that he firmly refused to release his grip on the car, holding onto the windshield wipers. He was taken aback when he realized that the car was moving down the street at an increased pace, causing him to panic and fear for his life.

There is a viral video circulating online which captures the moment when Zacharias clings onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when he pulled the leash, she initially thought he just wanted to go smell something, so she let go. However, to her surprise, she saw a woman holding onto her dog and walking away with him. In an effort to stop them from leaving, she stood in front of their car and firmly stated that they could not leave as they had her dog. Instead of stopping, they drove into her, causing her to fall onto the hood of their car. Despite the fall, she refused to give up and declared that she would not leave until they returned her dog. Despite her persistence, they drove off with her dog.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance when the car suddenly veered, causing her to be thrown off and sustain minor injuries like cuts and bruises. As of now, Onyx is still nowhere to be found.

"I feel a sense of sadness in whatever I am engaged in because I am not able to experience it with Onyx or see him participate. For instance, when I go grocery shopping, I am reminded that I am not purchasing anything for him. The passage of time has been unexpectedly swift, and it seems like this situation occurred just recently. However, it has already been 10 days," she expressed.

The Los Angeles Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the crime, which involves the examination of security footage, as reported by CBS.
