In Los Angeles, California, a woman showed great bravery when she held onto the hood of a moving car in order to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.
On January 18, a woman took a dog from its owner, Ali Zacharias, outside of a Whole Foods store.
The woman transported the dog, whose name was Onyx, to a white vehicle that was being operated by another person.
In a brave act, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. Without hesitation, they leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted his experience, expressing his determination to not release his grip on the car. He narrated how the car continued to move down the street, gradually gaining speed, which caused him to panic and fear for his life. This account was shared with CBS News.
A footage capturing the event has also become widely popular, displaying Zacharias clinging onto the vehicle's hood.
Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she assumed he wanted to go sniff something and let go. However, she was taken aback when she looked up and saw a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. Determined not to let her dog be taken away, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and firmly stated that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. The individuals in the car disregarded her pleas and intentionally drove towards her, causing her to fall onto the hood of their vehicle. Despite this, Zacharias refused to back down, stating that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Despite her efforts, the individuals eventually drove away.
Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempts to save her cute puppy were unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car abruptly changed direction, causing her to be thrown off. As a result, she sustained minor injuries such as cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx, the puppy, is still not found.
"No matter what I'm engaged in, I feel a sense of sadness because I'm not doing it alongside Onyx or because he's not able to experience it. It's like when I go grocery shopping, I realize that I'm not purchasing anything for him, and it's surprising how fast time has passed. It feels like this situation just occurred, but it's already been 10 days," she expressed.
The crime is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, who are actively looking into it and reviewing security footage as part of their investigation.
