In Los Angeles, California, a woman displayed immense courage by holding onto the hood of a moving car after a thief snatched her much-loved French bulldog.
On January 18, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods grocery store where a woman came up to Ali Zacharias, who was the owner of a dog, and forcefully took the pet away from her.
The woman lifted Onyx, a dog, and took him to a white car where another person was driving.
With great bravery, Zacharias was determined to not allow the thieves to escape after stealing Onyx. He leapt onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced down a bustling street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the event to CBS News, explaining that when the car started moving, he instinctively grabbed onto the windshield wipers and refused to let go. As the car continued down the street and gained speed, he became terrified for his life.
There is also a widely shared video that captures the incident, in which Zacharias can be seen holding onto the car's hood.
Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when the person holding her dog pulled on the leash, she initially thought they just wanted to let the dog smell something, so she let go. However, she soon realized that the person was actually taking her dog away. In an attempt to stop them, she stood in front of their car and firmly told them that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. Instead of stopping, the individuals drove into her, causing her to fall onto the hood of the car. Even in this situation, she refused to give up and declared that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Despite her pleas, they continued to drive away.
Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save his cute dog was unsuccessful. He managed to hold on for a short distance before the car abruptly changed direction, causing him to fall off. As a result, he sustained minor injuries such as cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx, the dog, is still not found.
No matter what activity I am engaged in, I feel a sense of sadness because I am not able to do it with Onyx or because he is not able to experience it. For example, when I go grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I am not buying anything for him. It feels like time has passed by so swiftly. It feels like this situation just occurred, but it has already been 10 days," she expressed.
The crime being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department is currently under active review, which includes the examination of security footage, as reported by CBS.
