Brave Woman Clings to Moving Car in Desperate Attempt to Rescue Stolen Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman took bold action to rescue her beloved French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, an incident took place outside a Whole Foods grocery store where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, the owner of a dog, and forcefully took the pet away from her.

The woman carried the dog, whose name was Onyx, to a white car that was being driven by another person.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to stop the thieves from escaping with Onyx. Without hesitation, they leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted how he firmly decided not to release his grip on the car and held onto the windshield wipers. He found himself startled as the vehicle continued down the street, gradually accelerating, causing him to panic and fear for his safety. This account was shared by Zacharias during an interview with CBS News.

Zacharias, who was involved in the incident, has become widely known through a viral video in which he is seen clinging onto the car's hood.

In retelling the incident through a TikTok video, Zacharias recounted how she initially assumed her dog just wanted to sniff something when he pulled on the leash, so she let go. To her surprise, she noticed a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. Determined to retrieve her pet, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and firmly stated that the woman couldn't leave because she had her dog. However, instead of cooperating, the driver of the car attempted to drive into Zacharias, even causing her to fall onto the hood of the vehicle. Undeterred, Zacharias remained steadfast, declaring that she wouldn't leave until her dog was returned. Despite her persistence, the individuals in the car ultimately drove away.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempts to save her beloved puppy were unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance until the vehicle abruptly changed direction and caused her to fall, resulting in only minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx is still nowhere to be found.

"I feel a sense of sadness whenever I engage in any activity, as I wish Onyx was here with me or experiencing it. For example, while grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I'm not buying anything for Onyx. It's astonishing how fast time has passed. It feels like this situation just occurred, and yet it's already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, as reported by CBS. They are actively involved in the investigation, which includes the examination
