In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely held onto the hood of a moving car in order to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.
On January 18, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, the owner of a dog, and forcefully took the pet away from her.
The woman held Onyx, the dog, as she made her way towards a white car. The car was being driven by another person.
Fearlessly, Zacharias made the decision to confront the thieves and prevent them from escaping with Onyx. Without hesitation, they leaped onto the front of the car and held on tightly as it raced through the bustling streets of Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident, stating that he was determined not to release his grip on the car and resorted to holding onto the windshield wipers. As they continued driving down the street and accelerating, he found himself becoming increasingly terrified for his own safety.
A viral video of the event has circulated, depicting Zacharias gripping onto the vehicle's hood.
Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she initially thought he wanted to go smell something, so she let go. However, she looked up and saw a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. In an attempt to stop them, she stood in front of their car and told them that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. Instead of stopping, the individuals driving the car continued to drive towards her, eventually causing her to fall onto the hood of the car. Even after falling, Zacharias remained determined and insisted that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Despite her efforts, they drove off with her dog.
Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save his cute dog was unsuccessful. He managed to hold on for a short distance, but the car suddenly changed direction and caused him to fall off, resulting in minor injuries and scrapes. Sadly, Onyx is still nowhere to be found.
"I feel a sense of sadness whenever I engage in any activity because I wish I could do it with Onyx or that he could be a part of it. For example, when I go grocery shopping, I can't help but realize that I'm not buying anything for him. It's astonishing how quickly time has passed. It feels like this situation just occurred, and yet it has already been 10 days," she expressed.
CBS reports that the Los Angeles Police Department is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the crime, which involves analyzing security footage as part of their efforts.
