  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman exhibited immense bravery by clinging onto the hood of a moving car in order to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, there was an incident that took place outside of a Whole Foods supermarket. A woman went up to Ali Zacharias, who was accompanied by her dog, and suddenly grabbed the pet away from

The woman transported the dog, whose name was Onyx, to a white car that was being operated by another person.

Showing great courage, Zacharias was determined to stop the thieves from escaping with Onyx. Without hesitation, she leapt onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through the bustling streets of Los Angeles.

Zacharias explained to CBS News that when faced with the situation, he made a firm decision to not give up on the car. In order to hold on, he grasped onto the windshield wipers. Without realizing it, the car started moving down the street and gradually accelerated, causing Zacharias to panic and fear for his life.

A viral video of the event has captured Zacharias clinging to the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she initially thought he just wanted to go sniff something, so she let go. However, she then noticed a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. In an attempt to stop them, she stood in front of their car and firmly told them that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. Instead of stopping, the individuals drove into her, causing her to fall onto the hood of their car. Even after falling, she remained determined and insisted that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Despite her efforts, they still drove off.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save his cute dog was unsuccessful. He managed to hold on for a short distance before the car abruptly changed direction, causing him to fall and suffer minor injuries. Unfortunately, Onyx, the dog, is still nowhere to be found.

No matter what I am doing, I feel upset that I am not doing it with Onyx or that he is not able to experience it. For instance, when I go grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I am not buying anything for him. It feels like time has passed by so quickly, and I still vividly remember when this situation occurred. Surprisingly, it has already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, who are actively looking into it and even reviewing security footage as part of their investigation.
