Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He bravely leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted his experience by saying that he was determined not to release his grip on the windshield wipers of the car. However, he soon found himself being driven down the street at an increasing speed, causing him to panic and fear for his life. This statement was shared with CBS News.

A viral video has been circulating online which captures the incident of Zacharias gripping onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she assumed he wanted to sniff something, so she let go. However, she was surprised to see a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. In an attempt to stop them, Zacharias positioned herself in front of their car and firmly stated that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. Instead of stopping, they continued to drive towards her, eventually causing her to fall onto the hood of their car. Despite the fall, Zacharias refused to give up and insisted that she would not leave until they returned her dog. Eventually, they drove away, leaving her distraught and desperate to retrieve her pet.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her beloved puppy was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance, but then the car suddenly changed direction and caused her to be thrown off, resulting in minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx is still not found.

No matter what activity I am engaged in, I feel a sense of sadness because I am not able to do it with Onyx or because he is not able to experience it. For example, when I am grocery shopping, I cannot help but think that I am not purchasing anything for him. It feels like time has passed by so swiftly. It seems like this situation just occurred, but in reality, it has already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, as reported by CBS. This investigation involves the examination of security footage as well.
