The Chilling Final Concerts of Country Music Legends: Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Daryle Singletary, and More

  • by

There have been six haunting final concerts by notable musicians such as Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Daryle Singletary. One of these musicians, George Jones, was aware that his performance would be his last. On the other hand, Daryle Singletary was unaware of this fact, which adds an extra layer of eeriness to the song he decided to conclude his concert with.

Following the passing of Merle Haggard, there circulated a notable tale of Toby Keith aiding him in gracefully concluding his career. However, this account turned out to be false. Contrary to popular belief, Keith did not attend Haggard's last performance, and the individual who deceived us into believing otherwise was also absent.

In truth, the individual mentioned as actor W. Earl Brown was not present at the event where Keith genuinely assisted Haggard in completing the task. He had simply learned about it through word of mouth.

Taste of Country uncovered a critique of Haggard's last performance, revealing a touching moment that deserves recognition alongside the Toby Keith hero story. This heartfelt incident is one of the six memories from his final concert, which can be seen in the video above (and in the pictures below).

Included in this bittersweet video are the final performance of John Denver, the last song of Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings' made-for-TV farewell performance.

We absolutely love the Singletary performance. If you're already acquainted with Johnny Paycheck's song "Old Violin," then you can imagine the incredible impact it had. However, if you're not familiar with it, we highly recommend you continue watching to witness something extraordinary.
