In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely held on to the hood of a moving car after a thief stole her beloved French bulldog, demonstrating her determination to rescue her pet.
On January 18, an incident occurred outside of a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, who was the owner of a dog, and forcefully took the pet away from her.
The woman picked up the dog, whose name was Onyx, and brought him to a white car that was being driven by another person.
Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He bravely leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted to CBS News that when faced with the situation, he firmly decided that he would not allow the car to go, thus gripping onto the windshield wipers. However, the situation quickly escalated as they continued to drive down the street and increase in speed, causing Zacharias to become extremely frightened for his life.
There is also a widely circulated video capturing the incident, which displays Zacharias gripping onto the car's hood.
Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News through a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she initially thought he just wanted to sniff something, so she let go. However, she then noticed a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. In an attempt to stop them, she positioned herself in front of their car and firmly told them that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. Instead of complying, the individuals in the car drove towards her, continuing to do so until she ended up on the hood of their car. Even in this position, she refused to give up and insisted that she wouldn't leave without her dog. Eventually, the people in the car drove away.
Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempts to save her cute dog were unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car suddenly veered, causing her to be thrown off and resulting in some minor injuries. Unfortunately, Onyx is still not found.

For example, when I go grocery shopping, I think about how I am not purchasing anything for him. It feels as though time has passed by swiftly, as if this situation occurred just recently. However, it has already been 10 days, she expressed.
The crime is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, who are actively looking into the matter and analyzing security footage as part of their investigation.
