In Los Angeles, California, a brave woman went to extreme lengths to protect her cherished French bulldog from a thief.
On January 18, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman took hold of Ali Zacharias' dog without permission.
The woman lifted Onyx, a dog, and brought him to a white car that was being driven by another person.
Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. Without hesitation, she leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, explaining that he was determined to not release his grip on the windshield wipers and was startled when the car started moving down the street, gradually gaining speed. This caused him to panic and fear for his life.
There is also a widely shared video that captures the incident, where Zacharias can be seen gripping onto the car's hood.
Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she initially assumed he wanted to go smell something and let go. However, she was surprised to see a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. Determined to retrieve her pet, she positioned herself in front of the car and firmly stated that they couldn't leave as they had her dog. Despite her protest, the individuals in the car proceeded to drive into her, causing her to end up on the hood of the vehicle. Even in this situation, she refused to give up, reiterating that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Eventually, they drove away, leaving her in distress.
Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car suddenly changed direction and caused her to be thrown off, resulting in some small injuries. Unfortunately, Onyx is still nowhere to be found.
"I feel a sense of sadness whenever I engage in any activity, as I wish I could be doing it with Onyx or that he could experience it too. For example, while grocery shopping, I find myself thinking that I'm not purchasing anything for him. It's astonishing how time has passed so swiftly. It feels like this occurrence just took place, and yet it has already been 10 days," she expressed.
The Los Angeles Police Department is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the crime, which involves analyzing security footage as part of their efforts.
