Brave Woman Clings to Moving Car in Desperate Attempt to Save Stolen Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely held onto the hood of a moving car to rescue her cherished French bulldog, which had been stolen by a thief.

On January 18, an incident took place outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman seized the pet of dog owner Ali Zacharias.

The woman carried Onyx, the dog, to a white car that was being driven by another person.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He bravely leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it quickly raced down a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted how he refused to release his grip on the windshield wipers, determined not to let go of the car. Without realizing it, they started driving down the street, accelerating rapidly, causing Zacharias to panic and fear for his life. This account was shared with CBS News.

A video capturing the event has also become widely popular, depicting Zacharias gripping onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News through a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she assumed he just wanted to sniff something, so she let go. However, when she looked up, she saw a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. Concerned, she positioned herself in front of the car and firmly stated that they could not leave because they had her dog. Instead of stopping, the individuals drove the car towards her, causing her to fall onto the hood. Undeterred, Zacharias insisted that she would not leave until they returned her dog. Despite her plea, they continued to drive away.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save his cute puppy was unsuccessful. He managed to hold on for a short distance before the vehicle suddenly changed direction, causing him to fall off. As a result, he sustained minor injuries such as cuts and bruises. However, his beloved pet Onyx is still nowhere to be found.

No matter what I am doing, I feel sad because I am not doing it with Onyx or because he is missing out. For example, when I am grocery shopping, I think about how I am not buying anything for him. It feels like time has passed by so quickly. It feels like this just happened, but it has already been 10 days, she expressed.

CBS has reported that the Los Angeles Police Department is currently conducting an active investigation into the crime, which includes the examination of security footage.
