The future of CMA Fest is set to change due to the upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans.
After being the location for the festival's main shows for many years, the current Nissan Stadium will no longer be the venue for these shows once the new venue is finished.
According to the Country Music Association, they have future plans to collaborate with the Tennessee Titans on a yearly basis during CMA Fest. They are excited about the prospect of hosting country music fans in Nashville for the evening concerts that will take place in the new stadium.
Construction of the upcoming New Nissan Stadium will take place on the East Bank of the Cumberland River, located to the east of the existing Nissan Stadium. The project is expected to commence this year and is projected to be completed by 2027, marking its official opening.
Fans of country music will continue to have access to the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by utilizing the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.
The new venue for the Titans will be different from their current home. It will be an indoor facility specifically designed to provide an enhanced fan experience. It will offer breathtaking views of Nashville, have a roof that allows natural light to filter in, and include a community space spanning 12,000 square feet that can be utilized throughout the year.
CMA Fest, previously known as Fan Fair, is an incredible event for country music enthusiasts. It originated in 1972 with a modest gathering of 5,000 fans at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium. However, it has now transformed into one of the largest annual events in country music. People from all over the world come together in Music City to experience this festival, where they can enjoy performances from over 250 artists on nine different stages.
