Woman’s Daring Act to Rescue Beloved Dog from Thief Goes Viral

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely held onto the hood of a moving car in order to rescue her cherished French bulldog after it was stolen by a thief.

On January 18th, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, the owner of a dog, and forcefully took her pet.

The woman transported the dog, whose name is Onyx, to a white vehicle that was being operated by another individual.

With great bravery, Zacharias was determined not to allow the thieves to escape after they stole Onyx. He courageously leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, stating that he was determined not to release his grip on the car and clung onto the windshield wipers. The situation escalated quickly as they drove down the street, gaining speed, and Zacharias found himself terrified for his life.

There is a widely circulated video capturing the incident, which depicts Zacharias holding onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she assumed he simply wanted to sniff something, so she let go. However, to her surprise, she looked up and saw a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. Determined not to let them leave with her dog, Zacharias positioned herself in front of their car and insisted that they could not go. Despite her protest, they continued to drive towards her, eventually causing her to fall onto the hood of their car. Undeterred, Zacharias remained adamant that she would not leave until they returned her dog. Nevertheless, they disregarded her plea and drove away.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her beloved dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car suddenly veered, causing her to be thrown off and sustain minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx, her dog, is still not found.

"No matter what I'm doing, I feel a sense of sadness because I'm not doing it with Onyx, or because he's not experiencing it. For example, when I'm grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I'm not buying anything for him. It's surprising how quickly time has passed. It feels like this situation just occurred, and yet it's already been 10 days," she expressed.

As per CBS news, the Los Angeles Police Department is currently engaged in investigating the criminal incident. This involves examining security footage as part of their investigation process
