Here are six haunting last concerts from legendary musicians like Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Daryle Singletary, and more. While George Jones was aware that it would be his farewell performance, Daryle Singletary was unaware, which adds an extra eerie quality to the song he decided to close the evening with.
Following the passing of Merle Haggard, a heartwarming tale circulated about Toby Keith's role in ensuring that Haggard departed the stage with his dignity preserved. However, this account turned out to be false. Contrary to popular belief, Keith was not present during Haggard's last performance, and the individual who led us to believe otherwise turned out to be deceptive.
In fact, the individual referred to as actor W. Earl Brown was not present at the event where Keith actually assisted Haggard in completing his performance. He simply learned about it from others.

Taste of Country found a review of Haggard's last concert and uncovered a special moment that deserves just as much recognition as the Toby Keith hero story. This is one of six memories from the final concert, which are shared in the video above (and in pictures below).
Included in this poignant video are the last performance of John Denver, the final song of Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings' made-for-TV farewell.
We particularly enjoy the Singletary performance. If you are already acquainted with Johnny Paycheck's song "Old Violin," then you know the direction he took it. However, if you are not familiar with it, I recommend you continue watching.
