In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely held onto the hood of a moving car in order to protect her cherished French bulldog from a thief.
On January 18, an incident took place outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, the owner of a dog, and forcefully took her pet away.
The woman picked up the dog named Onyx and brought it over to a white car that was being driven by another person.
Showing great bravery, Zacharias was determined to stop the thieves from escaping with Onyx. Without hesitation, she leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it zoomed through the bustling streets of Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the intense moment when he firmly grasped onto the car's windshield wipers, determined not to release his grip. Without realizing it, the car started moving down the street, rapidly accelerating, causing Zacharias to instantly panic and fear for his life.
A viral video of the event captures Zacharias gripping onto the car's hood.
Zacharias recounted her experience to NBC News through a TikTok video, explaining that when her dog pulled on the leash, she assumed he wanted to smell something and therefore let go. To her surprise, she saw a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. Determined to retrieve her pet, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and insisted that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. Despite her protests, the individuals in the car drove towards her, eventually causing her to fall onto the hood of their vehicle. Even in this situation, Zacharias remained steadfast, declaring that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. However, the individuals continued to drive away, ignoring her pleas.
Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car suddenly changed direction, causing her to fall off and sustain minor injuries. Unfortunately, Onyx, her dog, is still nowhere to be found.
"I feel a sense of sadness whenever I engage in any activity because I miss doing it with Onyx or knowing that he's not experiencing it. For example, while grocery shopping, I realize that I'm not buying anything for him. It's hard to believe how quickly time has passed. It feels like this just occurred, and yet it's already been 10 days," she expressed her feelings.
CBS has reported that the Los Angeles Police Department is currently engaged in an investigation of the crime, which involves a thorough examination of security footage.
