  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a brave woman went to great lengths to rescue her adored French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, an incident occurred outside of a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, the owner of a dog, and forcibly took the pet away from her.

The woman lifted Onyx, the dog, and took him to a white car that was being driven by another person.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined not to allow the thieves to escape after stealing Onyx. He bravely leapt onto the front of the car and held on tightly as it raced through a bustling street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted his experience, stating that he refused to release his grip on the windshield wipers of the car. Unbeknownst to him, the vehicle began moving down the street and accelerating, causing him to panic and fear for his life. This information was shared with CBS News.

A viral video of the situation has captured Zacharias clinging onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted her experience to NBC News through a TikTok video where she explained that when her dog pulled on the leash, she initially thought he just wanted to go sniff something, so she let go. However, to her surprise, she saw a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. In an attempt to stop them, Zacharias stood in front of their car and firmly told them that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. The individuals in the car then proceeded to drive towards her, pushing her until she fell onto the hood of their car. Despite this, she refused to give up and continued to assert that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Eventually, they drove away, leaving her distraught.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car abruptly changed direction and caused her to fall off. As a result, she sustained minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx, her dog, is still nowhere to be found.

"I feel a sense of sadness whenever I engage in any activity, as I can't help but think about how Onyx is not here with me or how he is missing out. Even something as simple as grocery shopping reminds me that I'm not buying anything for him. It's surprising how quickly time has passed, it feels like this situation just occurred, and yet it has already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime being discussed is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department. As part of their investigation, they are actively looking into security footage as a
