Woman’s Heroic Act: Clinging to Hood of Moving Car in Desperate Attempt to Save Stolen Beloved Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely clung to the hood of a moving car in order to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, an incident took place outside a Whole Foods supermarket. During this incident, a woman approached Ali Zacharias, who was the owner of a dog, and abruptly took the pet from her.

The woman transported Onyx, her dog, to a white car that was being driven by another person.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a bustling street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted his experience, stating that he was determined not to release his grip on the car and therefore clung onto the windshield wipers. He found himself in a situation where he was being driven down the street at an increasingly fast pace, causing him to panic and fear for his life.

Zacharias hanging onto the car's hood was captured in a viral video of the incident.

Zacharias explained to NBC News in a TikTok video that when he tugged on the leash, she assumed he just wanted to sniff something, so she released her grip. However, she was surprised to see a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. In an attempt to stop the woman from leaving, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and firmly stated that she couldn't leave because her dog was with her. Despite her efforts, the individuals in the car drove towards her, eventually causing her to fall onto their car's hood. Even in this situation, Zacharias remained determined and insisted that she would not leave until her dog was returned to her. The car continued to drive away, leaving her clinging to it.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car suddenly changed direction, causing her to fall off and sustain minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx, her dog, is still nowhere to be found.

No matter what I am currently engaged in, I feel a deep sense of sadness because I am not able to do it with Onyx or because he is not able to experience it. For instance, when I go grocery shopping, I can't help but feel that I am not buying anything for him. It feels as though time has passed by rapidly and I can't believe how quickly it has gone. It seems like this situation just occurred, but it has already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, who are actively looking into it and also examining security footage as part of their investigation.
