The Future of CMA Fest: How the New Nissan Stadium Will Change the Country Music Fan Experience

  • by

In the near future, CMA Fest will undergo significant changes due to the impending construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans.

After being held at the current Nissan Stadium for many years, the festival's main shows will be relocated to the new venue once it is finished.

According to the Country Music Association, their future intentions involve collaborating with the Tennessee Titans annually during CMA Fest. They are excited about hosting country music enthusiasts in Nashville for the evening performances at the newly constructed stadium.

A brand-new stadium, appropriately called the New Nissan Stadium, is planned to be constructed on the eastern side of the current Nissan Stadium, situated along the East Bank of the Cumberland River. The construction is expected to commence this year, and the stadium is projected to open in 2027.

Fans of country music will still have the convenience of reaching the New Nissan Stadium in downtown Nashville by using the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.

In contrast to the Titans' present stadium, the upcoming location will be a closed facility specifically designed to provide an enhanced fan experience. It will offer breathtaking views of Nashville, feature a see-through roof, and include a generous 12,000 square feet of community space that can be utilized throughout the year.

CMA Fest, originally known as Fan Fair, is a remarkable event for country music enthusiasts. It was first held in 1972 with around 5,000 fans attending at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium. Over the years, it has evolved into one of the largest annual gatherings in the country music industry. Thousands of fans from various parts of the world travel to Music City to witness over 250 performances by different artists across nine different stages.
