Woman’s Daring Act of Bravery: Clinging to Moving Car in Desperate Attempt to Rescue Stolen Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely held onto the hood of a moving car after a thief stole her cherished French bulldog.

On January 18th, an incident occurred outside of a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman came up to Ali Zacharias, the owner of a dog, and forcefully took her pet away.

The woman transported the dog, whose name was Onyx, to a white car that was being operated by another individual.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. She bravely leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted his experience, stating that he firmly refused to release his grip on the car and held onto the windshield wipers. He found himself in a situation where the car was rapidly accelerating down the street, causing him to feel an intense fear for his life.

The incident was captured on video and has since gained widespread attention, as it shows Zacharias clinging to the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when the person pulled the leash, she initially thought they just wanted her dog to smell something, so she let go. However, she looked up and saw a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. In an attempt to stop them, she stood in front of their car and told them they couldn't leave because they had her dog. Despite her efforts, the individuals continued to drive towards her, eventually causing her to fall onto the hood of their car. Even after falling, she remained determined and insisted that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Unfortunately, they ignored her pleas and drove away.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save his cute dog was unsuccessful. The dog owner managed to hold on for a short distance before the car abruptly changed direction, causing him to be thrown off and sustain minor injuries. However, Onyx, the dog, is still nowhere to be found.

No matter what activity I am engaged in, I can't help but feel a sense of sadness that Onyx is not with me or experiencing it. For example, when I go grocery shopping, I find myself realizing that I am not purchasing anything for him. It's surprising how quickly time has passed, and it feels like this situation just occurred. However, it has already been 10 days since then, she expressed.

The crime is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, who are actively looking into it and analyzing security footage as part of their investigation.
