Woman’s Brave Act: Clinging to Moving Car to Save Stolen Beloved Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a courageous woman resorted to extreme measures to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, an incident took place outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, the owner of a dog, and suddenly took the pet away from her.

The woman held Onyx, a dog, and took him to a white car where another person was driving.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He courageously leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a bustling street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, explaining that he was determined not to release his grip on the windshield wipers of the car. Eventually, to his surprise, the car started moving down the street and gaining speed, causing him to panic and fear for his life.

There is also a widely shared video capturing the incident, in which Zacharias can be seen gripping onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when she felt a tug on the leash, she assumed her dog wanted to go sniff something and let go. However, to her surprise, she saw a woman holding her dog and walking away. In an attempt to prevent the woman from leaving, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and firmly stated that the woman could not go as she had her dog. Despite her efforts, the individuals in the car proceeded to drive towards her, causing her to fall onto the hood. Despite this, Zacharias remained determined and declared that she would not leave until her dog was returned to her. However, the individuals in the car ignored her plea and continued to drive away.

Sadly, Zacharias' valiant attempt to save her beloved dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance, but then the car abruptly veered and caused her to be thrown off, resulting in only minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Regrettably, Onyx, her dog, is still nowhere to be found.

"No matter what I'm engaged in, I am simply saddened by the fact that I am not doing it with Onyx or that he is not able to experience it. For example, when I go grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I'm not buying anything for him. It's astonishing how time has passed so swiftly. It feels like this just occurred, and yet it has already been 10 days," she expressed her feelings.

The Los Angeles Police Department is currently engaged in an active investigation of a crime, which involves the process of reviewing security footage, as reported by CBS.
