In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely held onto the hood of a moving car after someone stole her cherished French bulldog.
On January 18, an incident took place outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, the owner of a dog, and abruptly took her furry companion away.
The woman transported the dog, whose name was Onyx, to a white car that was being operated by another person.
Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with the stolen Onyx. He bravely leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a bustling street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias expressed that he strongly refused to release his grip on the car, as he firmly held onto the windshield wipers. Unexpectedly, they found themselves driving down the street, gradually accelerating, and Zacharias became overwhelmed with fear for his life. This account was shared with CBS News.
There is a viral video circulating that captures the incident, which shows Zacharias clinging onto the car's hood.
Zacharias recounted the incident in a TikTok video, explaining that when her dog pulled the leash, she initially thought he just wanted to sniff something, so she let go. However, she was taken aback when she saw a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. Determined not to let her dog be taken away, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and firmly told the woman that she couldn't leave with her dog. Instead of complying, the individuals in the car drove towards her, causing her to fall onto the hood. Undeterred, Zacharias refused to give up and declared that she wouldn't leave until her dog was returned to her. Despite her persistence, the individuals in the car proceeded to drive away.
Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempts to save her beloved dog were unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance until the vehicle suddenly veered, causing her to be thrown off and resulting in minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx is still nowhere to be found.
"I feel a sense of sadness whenever I engage in any activity without Onyx, as if he is being left out. Even something as simple as grocery shopping reminds me that I am not getting anything for him. It's surprising how quickly time has passed. It feels like this situation just occurred, and yet it has already been 10 days," she expressed.
CBS reported that the Los Angeles Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the crime, which involves thorough examination of security footage.
