The future of CMA Fest is set to undergo significant changes due to the upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans.
After being held at Nissan Stadium for many years, the festival's main shows will be relocated to the newly constructed venue once it is finished.
According to the Country Music Association, they have ongoing plans to collaborate with the Tennessee Titans every year during CMA Fest. They are excited about hosting country music fans in Nashville for the nightly concerts held in the new stadium.
The upcoming stadium, appropriately named the New Nissan Stadium, is planned to be constructed on the east side of the existing Nissan Stadium, located along the East Bank of the Cumberland River. The construction is expected to commence this year, and the stadium is anticipated to open in 2027.
Fans of country music can still get to the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by using the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.
The new venue for the Titans will be a completely enclosed facility designed specifically to enhance the fan experience. It will offer stunning panoramic views of Nashville, have a translucent roof, and include 12,000 square feet of community space that can be utilized throughout the year.
CMA Fest, originally known as Fan Fair, is a highly anticipated event for country music enthusiasts. It first took place in 1972 with a modest attendance of 5,000 fans at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium. Over the years, it has grown into one of the largest annual gatherings in the country music industry. People from around the world travel to Music City to witness over 250 performances by various artists on nine different stages.
