Woman’s Heroic Act: Clinging to Moving Car to Save Stolen Beloved Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a brave woman resorted to extreme measures to rescue her beloved French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, who was walking her dog, and suddenly took her pet from her.

The woman took the dog, whose name was Onyx, and brought it to a white car that was being driven by another person.

With great bravery, Zacharias was determined to not allow the thieves to escape after taking Onyx. He bravely leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, explaining that he was determined to not release his grip on the windshield wipers of the car. As they continued driving down the street and accelerating, Zacharias experienced a sudden wave of fear for his life.

Additionally, there is a widely shared video capturing the event that features Zacharias clinging onto the vehicle's hood.

According to Zacharias, when he tugged on the leash, she assumed he wanted to go investigate something and let go. However, she then noticed a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. In an attempt to stop them, she positioned herself in front of their car and insisted that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. Instead of stopping, they drove into her, causing her to fall onto the hood of their car. Despite this, she remained determined and declared that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Eventually, they drove away, leaving her still clinging to the car. Zacharias shared this experience in a TikTok video to NBC News.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute puppy was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance, but the car suddenly veered and caused her to be thrown off, resulting in some minor injuries like cuts and bruises. However, her puppy named Onyx is still nowhere to be found.

"No matter what I'm doing, I feel a sense of sadness because Onyx is not with me or experiencing it. Even when I'm grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I'm not getting anything for him. Time has passed so quickly, and it feels like this situation just occurred. It's hard to believe that it's already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, who are actively looking into the matter and are also reviewing security footage as part of their
