Following the passing of Merle Haggard, there was a widely circulated narrative about Toby Keith assisting him in concluding his final performance while preserving his dignity. However, this account turned out to be false. Neither Keith nor the individual who misled us into believing he was present were actually in attendance for the Hag's last show.
In fact, actor W. Earl Brown wasn't present at the event where Keith actually assisted Haggard in completing his performance. He simply received information about it.
