The Future of CMA Fest: What to Expect in the Coming Years

  • by

The upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans means that CMA Fest will undergo significant changes in the coming years.

After hosting the festival's main shows for many years, the current Nissan Stadium will no longer be the venue for these shows once the new venue is finished.

According to the Country Music Association, they have ongoing plans to collaborate with the Tennessee Titans annually during CMA Fest. They are excited about hosting country music fans in Nashville for the nightly concerts that will take place in the newly built stadium.

A brand new stadium, called the New Nissan Stadium, is going to be constructed on the eastern side of the existing Nissan Stadium, located along the East Bank of the Cumberland River. The construction of the new stadium is planned to commence this year, and it is expected to be ready for opening in 2027.

Fans of country music will continue to have access to the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville through the utilization of the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.

In contrast to the Titans' existing stadium, the upcoming location will be an enclosed space specifically designed to enhance the fan experience. It will offer breathtaking views of Nashville, feature a see-through roof, and include a generous 12,000 square feet of community space that can be utilized throughout the year.

CMA Fest, originally known as Fan Fair, is an extraordinary event for country music fans. It originated in 1972 with a small gathering of 5,000 fans at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium and has now become one of the largest annual events in the genre. People from all over the world come to Music City each year to witness over 250 performances by various artists across nine different stages.
