Woman Clings to Hood of Moving Car in Daring Attempt to Save Stolen Beloved Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely held on to the hood of a moving car in an effort to rescue her precious French bulldog after it was stolen by a thief.

On January 18, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman grabbed and took away the dog of its owner, Ali Zacharias.

The woman lifted Onyx, the dog, and took him to a white car that was being driven by another person.

Bravely, Zacharias refused to allow the thieves to escape after stealing Onyx. She leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly while it raced down a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias explained to CBS News that he refused to let go of the car and held onto the windshield wipers as it started driving down the street, quickly gaining speed. He was scared for his life in that moment.

A viral video of the event has also surfaced, capturing Zacharias gripping onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident in a TikTok video to NBC News, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she assumed he simply wanted to go and investigate something, so she released her grip. However, she was surprised to see a woman take hold of her dog and walk away. Determined not to let her dog be taken, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and insisted that the woman could not leave as she had her dog. The individuals in the car then proceeded to drive towards her, eventually causing her to fall onto the hood of the car. Even in this situation, Zacharias remained adamant and declared that she would not leave until her dog was returned. Despite her efforts, the individuals continued driving away.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save his cute dog was unsuccessful. He managed to hold on for a short distance before the car suddenly changed direction, causing him to be thrown off and resulting in some small injuries. Unfortunately, Onyx is still nowhere to be found.

"No matter what I'm doing, I feel a sense of sadness because I'm not doing it with Onyx or because he's not able to experience it. For example, when I go grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I'm not buying anything for him. It's just incredible how fast time has flown by. It feels like this situation just occurred, and yet it's already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, as reported by CBS. As part of their investigation, they are looking into security footage
