Woman’s Brave Pursuit: Clinging to Moving Car to Save Stolen Beloved Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a brave woman went to extreme lengths to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman went up to Ali Zacharias, the owner of a dog, and forcefully took the pet away from her.

The woman carried the dog, whose name was Onyx, and took it to a white car where another person was driving.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He leaped onto the front of the vehicle and held on tightly as it raced through a bustling street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, stating that he was determined to hold onto the car and refused to let go. However, his anxiety escalated as the car continued down the street and started gaining speed, causing him to fear for his life.

A widely circulated video captures the moment when Zacharias clings to the car's hood during the incident.

In a TikTok video, Zacharias recounted a distressing incident where she initially thought her dog wanted to explore something when he pulled the leash, so she let go. However, she was shocked to see a woman taking hold of her dog and walking away with him. Determined to not let her dog be taken away, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and firmly stated that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. Despite her efforts, the individuals in the car continued driving towards her, eventually causing her to fall onto the hood of their car. Even after falling, Zacharias remained resolute, declaring that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Despite her persistence, they eventually drove away.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the vehicle suddenly swerved, causing her to be thrown off and resulting in minor injuries such as cuts and bruises. Onyx, her beloved pet, is still nowhere to be found.

"I feel a sense of sadness whenever I engage in any activity, as I am reminded that I am not doing it with Onyx or that he is missing out. For example, even when I'm grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I'm not buying anything for him. It's incredible how fast time has passed, as it feels like this situation just occurred, yet it has already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, as reported by CBS. The department is actively looking into the matter, which includes the
