The woman picked up Onyx, the dog, and took him to a white car being operated by another person.

Zacharias recounted his experience of firmly gripping onto the windshield wipers, determined not to release his hold on the car. In a matter of moments, they found themselves swiftly driving down the street, accelerating rapidly, causing Zacharias to panic and fear for his life. This account was shared with CBS News.
A video capturing the event has become extremely popular on the internet, and it shows Zacharias desperately clutching onto the car's hood.
Zacharias recounted the incident in a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she initially thought he wanted to go smell something and let go. However, to her surprise, she noticed a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. Determined not to let her dog be taken away, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and firmly told the woman that she couldn't leave because she had her dog. Despite her protests, the car drove into her, causing her to fall onto the hood. Undeterred, Zacharias persisted, declaring that she wouldn't leave until her dog was returned. However, the individuals in the car disregarded her demands and continued to drive away.
Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempts to save her cute dog were unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance, but the car suddenly swerved, causing her to be thrown off. As a result, she suffered only minor injuries like cuts and bruises. However, her dog Onyx is still nowhere to be found.
"No matter what I'm doing, I feel sad because Onyx is not here with me, and he's missing out. Even when I'm grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I'm not buying anything for him. It's surprising how fast time has passed, it feels like this just happened. And yet, it's already been 10 days," she expressed her feelings.
The Los Angeles Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the crime as reported by CBS. This investigation involves a thorough examination of security footage.
