In Los Angeles, California, a courageous woman resorted to extreme measures to protect her cherished French bulldog from a thief.
On January 18, an incident took place in front of a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, who was the owner of a dog, and abruptly took the pet away from her.
The woman transported the dog, Onyx, to a white car that was being driven by another person.
Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He bravely leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced down a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, stating that he was determined not to release his grip on the windshield wipers as the car continued to move down the street, gradually accelerating. In that moment, he felt a surge of fear for his life.
A video capturing the event has become widely popular, displaying Zacharias clinging onto the car's hood.
Zacharias recounted her experience to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when her dog pulled on the leash, she initially thought he simply wanted to sniff something, so she let go. However, to her surprise, she saw a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. Determined to retrieve her pet, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and protested, telling the woman that she couldn't leave because she had her dog. Despite her efforts, the individuals driving the car proceeded to drive towards her, eventually causing her to fall onto the hood of their vehicle. Even after falling, Zacharias remained resolute, declaring that she wouldn't leave until her dog was returned to her. Unfortunately, the individuals continued to drive away.
Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her beloved dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance until the car suddenly veered and caused her to be thrown off, resulting in minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx is still not found.
"I feel a sense of sadness in whatever activity I am engaged in because I realize that Onyx is not here with me or experiencing it. Even when I am grocery shopping, I cannot help but think that I am not buying anything for him. It's astonishing how quickly time has passed. It feels like this situation occurred recently, but in reality, it has already been 10 days," she expressed.
CBS has reported that the Los Angeles Police Department is currently engaged in an active investigation of the crime, which involves examining security footage as part of their efforts
