6 Chilling Final Concerts: A Tribute to Country Music Legends Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Daryle Singletary, and More

  • by

There have been six memorable final concerts by iconic artists such as Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Daryle Singletary. One of these concerts was particularly haunting, as George Jones was aware that it would be his last performance. On the other hand, Daryle Singletary was unaware of this fact, which adds an even more chilling aspect to the song he selected to conclude the night.

Following the passing of Merle Haggard, a story emerged about Toby Keith assisting him in exiting the stage while maintaining his dignity. However, this story turned out to be false. Contrary to what was believed, Keith was not present at Haggard's last performance, and the person who had deceived us into thinking he was there was also absent.

In reality, the person in question, actor W. Earl Brown, was not present at the event where Keith actually assisted Haggard in completing the task. He simply learned about it through word of mouth.

Taste of Country found a review of Haggard's last concert and uncovered a special moment that deserves just as much recognition as the Toby Keith hero story. This is one of the six memorable moments from the final concert, which can be seen in the video above (and in the pictures below).

This video includes the last performance of John Denver, the final song of Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings' farewell performance made for TV. It is a bittersweet collection of these memorable moments.

We absolutely love the Singletary performance. If you are already familiar with Johnny Paycheck's song "Old Violin," you know exactly how amazing it was. But if you haven't heard it before, make sure to continue watching because it's truly worth it.

There are six upcoming concerts that will be the final performances from legendary country music artists. These concerts are highly anticipated
