In the coming years, CMA Fest is expected to undergo changes due to the upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans. This means that the festival's current format may not be the same in the future.
The festival's main shows have been held at Nissan Stadium for many years, but they will be moved to a new venue once it is finished.
The Country Music Association intends to collaborate with the Tennessee Titans annually during CMA Fest and is excited to host country music fans in Nashville for the concerts at the new stadium.
A new stadium, called the New Nissan Stadium, will be constructed on the East Bank of the Cumberland River, located to the east of the current Nissan Stadium. Building is expected to start this year and the stadium is projected to open in 2027.
Fans of country music can still get to the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by using the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.
The new venue for the Titans will be indoors and designed to provide fans with an enhanced experience. It will feature panoramic views of Nashville, a see-through roof, and 12,000 square feet of community space that can be utilized throughout the year.
CMA Fest is a popular event for country music fans, originally known as Fan Fair when it started in 1972. It began with 5,000 fans at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium and has since grown into one of the largest country music events of the year. Every year, thousands of people from around the world come to Music City to enjoy performances by over 250 artists on nine stages.
