Reba McEntire Returns to TV with New Sitcom: Reuniting with ‘Reba’ Team for NBC Pilot

Country music star Reba McEntire is reuniting with the team from her hit show "Reba" for a new sitcom, marking her return to television.

Following her role as a coach on The Voice, Reba McEntire will be working with NBC again on a new untitled comedy pilot.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, the show follows the story of McEntire's character, who unexpectedly becomes co-owner of her father's restaurant with her newfound half-sister.

McEntire will be working again with experienced showrunner Kevin Abbott, who has worked on popular shows like Last Man Standing, Roseanne, and The Golden Girls.

According to reports, Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis, who were previously executive producers on Reba, will be working with Reba McEntire on her new comedy series for NBC.

NBC has made its first pilot order of 2024 following the conclusion of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

The singer known for the song "Fancy" made her television debut in the early 2000s with a popular sitcom called Reba, which aired for six seasons from 2001 to 2007.

In the TV show, McEntire played the role of a mother from Texas dealing with the breakdown of her marriage, her husband's infidelity, and her daughter's unexpected pregnancy during her teenage years.

Reba continues to be shown in reruns and is currently being broadcast on the Hallmark Channel.

McEntire appeared in the ABC show Malibu Country in 2012, where she starred alongside Lily Tomlin and Sara Rue. The show did not last long.

In 2022, she made an appearance in Season 3 of the television show Big Sky on ABC.
